Our new drummer is legit! At first I thought the best thing about him would be that he’s from New Zealand. But nope! He’s a hard hitter and is doing fairly well with the new symbols. I still want to throw those symbols in a trash compactor.
I’ll be deaf by the time I’m 40 but at least I’ll have stories to tell. Maybe I should bring ear plugs in case I have to chill by drum kit in action or next to a sub again.
Best documentary I’ve ever seen. Hands down. Most documentaries are a “watch it once, you get it, move on” kind of thing. Not this one. The tiny angry teenager I used to be and even the more grown up girl I am now were glued to the screen. Everything resonated with me. If you were ever part of the legit, we’re pissed off punk scene before it was cool or trendy to wear plaid skirts and shop at Hot Topic, you need to see this movie. It was well done. There an oddly heavy emphasis on Jim Lindberg, but I always loved him so that was fine with me. It definitely reminded me of when I wanted my “I Love Jello Biafra” tramp stamp. (I’ve become far more creative and my tattoos are way better than that.)
